The Mushroom Kingdom of Ezili is a bold musical project created by Charlene Jean, where we reimagine Black, Queer, and Femme joy in an ecologically vibrant, pleasure-centered world. The story follows the Mud People—a polyamorous family born of the Mushroom land—who live in harmony under Queen Milfie’s guidance. When George, a struggling artist, forages mushrooms to overcome his creative block, he traps the Mud People within his imagination, reshaping their loving community into a constrained, monogamous nightmare. Over time, the two femmes in the polycule rediscover their love, transforming George’s mind from a prison into a spring of life, and Milfie brings him into the Kingdom, where he becomes part of the ecosystem he once exploited.

Meadows by The Ellemental is a transcendent soundscape and the opening track to the Escaping Edyn EP. A hypnotic blend of ambient textures and organic rhythms, the piece narrates a profound journey through water, earth, fire, and air—each element weaving into The Ellemental’s path toward embodiment and balance. Accompanied by a visually striking music video and photoshoot, both directed by The Ellemental, Meadows invites listeners into a world where nature and self-discovery merge in an ethereal symphony.

Adam’s Angst is the second track on Escaping Edyn, where The Ellemental bares her soul through raw lyricism, navigating the turbulence of mental stability. With poetic introspection, she unpacks her struggles and the journey of escaping a trying reality, ultimately reframing her understanding of self and the world around her. Accompanied by a striking music video and photoshoot, both directed by The Ellemental, Adam’s Angst is a deeply personal exploration of resilience and transformation.

Thoughts from the Tree is the third track on Escaping Edyn, where The Ellemental delves into the complexities of war, peace, and duality. Showcasing her lyrical ability, she weaves thought-provoking verses with the resonant voice of Winston Churchill, creating a meditation on the interplay between light and dark. Through an evocative music video and photoshoot, both directed by The Ellemental, this piece challenges perceptions and invites listeners to reflect on the delicate balance that shapes our world.
